Educator Grants


Grant to Attend the American Dental Education Association Meeting

The AAE Foundation will provide funding for one full-time educator from each accredited endodontic program in the United States and Canada to attend ADEA's annual meeting. The attendee will be reimbursed for expenses following the meeting. Up to $1,400 per attendee is available to cover the cost of registration, lodging and travel. Applicants must provide receipts for all reimbursable expenses. Reimbursements will occur no later than 60 days following the receipt of expense documentation.

Applicants must be full-time educators as defined by their respective institutions, and must be teaching in an accredited U.S. or Canadian dental school or medical center.

Ten-Year Anniversary Grant

The AAE Foundation will provide $10,000 to all educators who have been teaching full-time for 10 consecutive years. The grant is not retroactive and is awarded in the applicant’s 10th anniversary year.

Applicants must be:

  • AAE members
  • Full-time educators as defined by their respective institutions, and must be teaching in an accredited U.S. or Canadian dental school or medical center
  • Certified in endodontics from an institution accredited by or having a reciprocal agreement with the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association

AAE Dues Subsidy for First-Year Educators

The Foundation will subsidize membership dues for full-time educators in the first year following their graduation from an endodontic program, if their universities do not reimburse dues.

Applicants must:

  • Be full-time educators as defined by their respective institutions, and must be teaching in an accredited U.S. or Canadian dental school or medical center.
  • Be certified in endodontics from an institution accredited by or having a reciprocal agreement with the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association.

Grant to Educators for Annual Session

This grant acknowledges the critical role educators play in strengthening the specialty. Full-time educators receive reimbursement for one-half the Annual Session registration fee and $500 for travel. Full-time educators who present during a track at the Annual Session will receive reimbursement for the total cost of registration.

Grant to Educators for Fall Conference

The AAE Foundation recognizes the importance of continuing education for academicians and the budgetary constraints of many institutions.

Full-time educators will receive reimbursement for the Fall Conference registration fee and $500 for travel.

ADEA Institute for Teaching and Learning Funding

The Foundation will pay registration for the workshop, transportation and lodging for all Postgraduate Fellowship recipients. The Foundation will fund half the cost of the Institute for AAE members who have secured a full-time academic position and who wish to attend. Up to $25,000 is available to support full-time educators in a calendar year. Learn more about the ADEA/AAL ITL. Download grant application for more information.

Board Certification Educator Award

Since 2006, full-time educators who become Board-certified are eligible to receive a $2,000 award. Board certification strengthens faculty and increases professional development and advancement. The Board of Trustees hopes this added incentive will encourage all educators to pursue Board certification. Foundation staff will notify all eligible educators after they are notified about certification.
