Prospective Board Candidate Application Processing

Prospective Board Candidate Application

A Prospective Board Candidate Application may be submitted to the ABE by a student enrolled in an ADA-accredited endodontic program in the year of graduation. The Prospective Board Candidate Application is available from the ABE Headquarters Office, or may be downloaded above. Mail the completed Prospective Board Candidate Application and payment totaling $420 ($250 for the Prospective Board Candidate Application and $170 for the Written Examination) to the American Board of Endodontics, 211 E. Chicago Ave., Suite 1100, Chicago, IL 60611. Payment should be made in U.S. funds by check or money order made payable to the ABE. Applications are still being accepted, however processing of your authorization letter will take approximately seven-ten working days after the application is received.

Preliminary Application/Track Selection Form Processing 

Preliminary Application   

A Preliminary Application may be submitted to the ABE upon completion of your advanced endodontic program. Preliminary Applications are available from the ABE Headquarters Office, or may be downloaded above. Processing of the Preliminary Application requires a completed application and track selection form, a notarized copy of your endodontic certificate (if a certificate is not available, a notarized letter from the dean or director of the endodontic training program certifying that the certificate has been awarded may be substituted) and payment of $250.

Track Selection Form

Complete the form selecting Track I (Written Examination, Case History Portfolio Examination and Oral Examination or Track II (Case History Portfolio Examination, Written Examination and Oral Examination). The Track Selection Form is available from the ABE Headquarters Office, or may be downloaded above. Mail the Preliminary Application, notarized proof of certification, Track Selection Form, and payment (if you are selecting Track I, please include payment in the amount of $420 - $250 for the Preliminary Application and $170 for the Written Examination) to the American Board of Endodontics, 211 E. Chicago Ave, Suite 1100, Chicago, IL 60611. Payment should be made in U.S. funds by check or money order made payable to the ABE.

Final Application Processing

Final Application

Final Applications are available from the ABE Headquarters Office, or may be downloaded above. The application must be accompanied by a list of names and addresses of five dentists, including two Diplomates of the ABE, whom the Secretary may contact for verification of the Candidate’s qualifications and endodontic identification.
