Re-examination and Re-establishing Board Eligibility

Re-examination

Candidates are allowed to retake an examination a second time, provided they are still within their eligibility period. The following fees apply:

Examination Required Fee
Case History Examination $250
Oral Examination $250
Written Examination $170

Re-establishment of Board Eligibility

Loss of Board Eligibility occurs for the following reasons:

  • A Candidate fails to successfully pass an examination within their eligibility period.
  • A Candidate fails an examination for the second time.
  • A Candidate fails to pay the annual maintenance fee of $50.

To re-establish Board Eligibility, a new Preliminary Application form and appropriate fees are required. After approval of the application, the Board will declare the individual Board Eligible. The Board Eligible Candidate may then begin the Certification process as described in the section on Procedure for Certification. Board Eligibility may be established a total of three times.
