Please join us in congratulating our 18 new Diplomates that completed the Board Certification process in April 2008.
Achieving Diplomate status requires many years of hard work and deep commitment to professional excellence: it is the ultimate recognition of an individual's knowledge and expertise in endodontics.

A significant change in eligibility for the Written Examination began in 2006. Previously, completion of an ADA accredited-endodontic program was required before a Candidate was qualified to take the Written Examination. Effective January 1, 2006, a new category, Prospective Board Candidate, was established so that students enrolled in an ADA-accredited endodontic program can register to take the Written Examination in the year of graduation.
Prospective Board Candidate Definition
A student enrolled in their final year of an advanced education program in endodontics accredited by the Commission of Dental Accreditation of the ADA whose application and payment of the Written Examination fee have been accepted and approved by the Board.
Application Procedures for Prospective Board Candidates
Students begin the registration process for the examination by submitting a Prospective Board Candidate application, the application fee of $250 and payment of the examination fee (currently $170).
Upon approval of the application, the applicant will be declared a Prospective Board Candidate and will receive an authorization letter for registration. Examinations are scheduled directly with Pearson Vue via the internet or telephone.
In association with Measurement Research Associates, Inc. and Pearson Vue, the ABE Written Examination is administered as a computer-based examination at Pearson Vue Testing Centers. There are 230 Pearson Professional Test Centers throughout the world, helping to eliminate the inconvenience and expense of air travel, hotel accommodations, and additional time away from work. All of Pearson’s testing centers are uniform in size, equipment, appearance and procedures, ensuring a consistent and secure examination experience for all our candidates.
Prospective Board Candidates have until the end of the year the Written Examination was taken to submit a Preliminary Application and a notarized copy of their endodontic certificate.
