2010-2011 Campaign Success
It was another banner year for the AAE Foundation. Just over $1 million was raised.
This was an exciting campaign. The goal was $950,000. Volunteers arrived at the Annual Session in San Antonio with $750,000 pledged. As guests gathered for the Leadership Donor Reception, sponsored by SybronEndo, they were just $50,000 short of the goal. The reception, which marked the campaign’s final hour, was also its magic moment. Three generous members, inspired by the evening’s excitement brought the campaign total to over $1 million by taking their leadership pledges ($10,000 or more) to significantly higher levels.

Volunteers are the Foundation’s most valuable resource. There is no more convincing voice for endodontic research and education than your own. Volunteering for the Foundation is rewarding and fun. You will share your enthusiasm with your colleagues and answer any questions they have about the Foundation’s activities. Each volunteer is asked to contact several members. Volunteers work in teams. Coaching and guidance is provided by Foundation Trustees and other experienced fundraisers. Several brief conference calls are organized to develop strategy and share information. If you would like to volunteer contact Alyson Hall at ahall@aae.org.
I hope that you will agree to serve. Few organizations can match the generosity that exists within the AAE. This special quality results from the wonderful success that we have to share. To volunteer, complete this form and send it by fax to Alyson Hall at 866/451-9020 or contact Alyson by phone at 800/872-3636 or e-mail (ahall@aae.org). If you have any questions about the Foundation, please don’t hesitate to call either one of us. We would be happy to talk with you.

Campaign Reflections
On Giving…
André K. Mickel , D.D.S., M.S.D.
Increased to Diamond Level
“After all that the AAE Foundation and AAE have done for educators and our entire specialty, how can I just stand by and not give even more to help ensure the future of endodontics? I want to give my time, talent and treasure to make sure that we remain strong and steadfast in a turbulent world!”
On Receiving…
Hong Li, D.D.S., M.Sc., Ph.D.
Graduate resident at Oregon Health & Science University
“It is such a distinctive honor to be the recipient of an AAE Foundation research grant. The field of virology in endodontics is still mostly blank, and I believe our project will answer some of the perplexing questions. The Foundation has sponsored a great deal of outstanding research projects. I am committed to live up to the highest expectation of the AAE and fulfill the requirements of the Foundation.”
On Volunteering…
Mark A. Camp, D.D.S., M.S.
2007-2008 Volunteer
“I believe that by volunteering I can educate others about the importance of the Foundation so that we can control our destiny rather than have other specialties or manufacturers do so.”
