E-mail alerts are a simple way to get timely access to research abstracts that you can browse through for whatever interests you, and it is simple to sign up. Following are the steps involved for a few endodontic-related journals.
Journal of Endodontics
As an AAE member, you are provided with full access to the Journal of Endodontics. A complete library of articles from 1975 through the current year is available in PDF, full text/HTML and abstract formats.
Additional features are available once you are on the JOE website including:
- Saving your searches
- Creating search, periodical table-of-contents and citation alerts
- Purchasing access to other journals or articles
To activate these features, select “E-mail Alert” under the Special Features menu in the middle of the JOE page. You will need to create a username and password just for the Elsevier Web site for these alerts to work.
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology and Endodontics
This journal is published by the same company as the Journal of Endodontics, so if you have already created a username and password on the JOE website, you can also go to the OOOOE page to:
- View abstracts, references and PDFs from 1997 to the present
- Establish e-mail alerts for the table-of-contents
- Save your searches
- Purchase access to this journal and others
Wiley Blackwell
Another resource that may be of interest to endodontists is the Wiley Blackwell site. There are at least 25 journals, including the following:

Register for a Wiley Blackwell Account. Once registered, select the journal you are interested in and click on “Set E-mail Alerts,” browse the lists, and simply check off the research alerts you'd like to receive via e-mail. You can edit your preferences at any time if you wish to make changes.
