CHICAGO – More than 150 hours of continuing education credit in six distinct programming tracks will be available for dental professionals from around the globe at the American Association of Endodontists Annual Session in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, April 9 – 12, 2008. In addition to more than 3,500 expected endodontic professionals and vendors, the AAE is encouraging all general dentists with an active interest in the specialty to attend.
Key topics of interest to general dentists, including regenerative endodontics, endodontics versus implants, posts and cores, and rotary instrumentation are available within six program tracks: nonsurgical endodontics, pain management, practice management, professional staff, submitted presentations and surgical endodontics. These tracks will facilitate the needs of attendees who wish to concentrate on one subject, as well as those who prefer to “pick and choose” educational material from various areas.
“General dentists and endodontists have a unique relationship that should always be cultivated through education and referral,” said Shepard S. Goldstein, D.M.D., president of the AAE. “By attending our Annual Session, all dental professionals have the opportunity to share knowledge and learn from the best and brightest endodontic educators worldwide. I encourage all general dentists to take part in this opportunity.”
Each year, the Annual Session is preceded by an all-day course focused on a topic selected by the AAE Continuing Education Committee. The Pre-Session Symposium, Consequences of and Strategies to Deal with Residual Post-Treatment Root Canal Disease, will feature presentations by leading lecturers including Drs. Paul V. Abbott, Markus Haapasalo, Eric J. Herbranson, Mian K. Iqbal and Alan S. Law.
This panel of experts will lead attendees through the impact of post-treatment infection and inflammation on the host system. Presentations will focus on clinical perspectives of treatment outcomes, emerging strategies to deal with periapical disease, changing views of endodontic infections and systemic interactions, and regenerative endodontics.
This year’s Annual Session is supported by our generous sponsors Dentsply Tulsa Dental Specialties, Smart Endodontics by Discus Dental, Dentsply International, Nobel Biocare, Obtura/Spartan, Schick Technologies, SybronEndo and Treloar and Heisel, Inc.
