American Association of Endodontists Foundation Announces New Trustees

CHICAGO — The American Association of Endodontists Foundation appointed four new trustees to its Board of Directors during the 2008 Annual Session, April 9 – 12, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Robert A. Coleman, D.D.S., M.S., of Livonia, Mich.; Clara M. Spatafore, D.D.S., M.S., of Sewickley, Pa.; Michael Stone of New York, N.Y.; and Anne E. Williamson, D.D.S., M.S., of Iowa City, Iowa, were elected.

Dr. Robert A. Coleman has been a member of the AAE since 1985, and previously served as District IV director for the Association in 2003-2006. He also has been an active participant in several Association committees, including Membership Services, Membership Insurance and Clinical Practice. In addition to his activities for the Association, he is past president of the Michigan Association of Endodontists, Detroit District Dental Society and Western Branch of the Detroit District Dental Society. Dr. Coleman maintains a private practice in Livonia, Mich.

Dr. Clara M. Spatafore has been an AAE member since 1987, and currently serves as vice president of the Association, after serving as the organization’s secretary in 2004 and 2006-2008, as well as District I director from 2003-2006. Her professional activity extends to several other dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association and West Pennsylvania Dental Association. She is a past president of the West Virginia University School of Dentistry Alumni Association. In addition to maintaining a private practice in Sewickley, she is an assistant professor at Allegheny General Hospital.

Michael Stone has been president of Schick Technologies, a market-leading dental equipment company, since 2006. As executive vice president for Schick from 2000-2006, he implemented a corporate restructuring, which resulted in six years of growth culminating in a merger with Sirona Dental Systems. Previously, Stone has served in a variety of positions with Welch Allyn, the Academy of Wine and Olympus Optical.

Dr. Anne E. Williamson has been an Association member since 2000, and is the present chair of the AAE Educational Affairs Committee. She is the director of the endodontic graduate program and assistant professor for the department of endodontics at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. She also serves as a medical staff member for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Williamson is an accomplished author, contributing to editions of the endodontic textbooks, Pathways of the Pulp and Principles and Practice of Endodontics, as well as numerous articles published in recognized scientific journals.
