American Association of Endodontists Names James C. Kulild Secretary

CHICAGO (June 30, 2009) — James C. Kulild, D.D.S., M.S., was re-elected secretary of the American Association of Endodontists at its recent 2009 Annual Session in Orlando, Fla.

Dr. Kulild is a professor and director of the Advanced Specialty Education Program for Endodontics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. An AAE member since 1981, he has represented AAE District III on the Board of Directors from 2005-2008, and recently served as Board liaison to the Editorial Board of the Journal of Endodontics and various AAE committees, including Research and Scientific Affairs, Distance Learning and Educational Affairs.

He has chaired the Corporate Relations Committee, and has also been a member of the Constitution and Bylaws and District III Nominating Committees. Additionally, he was a member of the Ad Hoc Committee on Workforce, and currently serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of the JOE.

Dr. Kulild achieved Diplomate status from the American Board of Endodontics in 1986. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Association and the Greater Kansas City Dental Society, and is a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy and both the American and International Colleges of Dentists.

He spent 32 years in the U.S. Army, holding several high-level positions in the U.S. Army Association of Endodontists and the European Association of U.S. Army Endodontists. He was also the dean for the Academy of Health Sciences, U.S. Army Medical Department Center and School, and director of the U.S. Army Endodontic Residency Program. He received numerous military awards, including the “A” Proficiency Designator Award, the highest award for professional achievement given by the Office of the Surgeon General.

A resident of Shawnee, Kan., Dr. Kulild holds his D.D.S. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, his M.S. in oral biology from George Washington University and his Certificate in Endodontics from Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, Wash.
