Student Philanthropy

The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit.

The specialty’s newest members are among its most generous. Residents have been quick to understand the connection between strong research and educational initiatives and their future well-being. They have contributed more than $1 million to the Foundation’s endowment fund since the campaign’s inception, and 33 percent of current residents have made a pledge.

“A pledge is a great introduction to philanthropy,” says Foundation President Denis E. Simon III. “Of the many benefits our specialty delivers, the opportunity to do good in the world, is one of the greatest. Endodontics gives us the resources to support our schools, our communities and our places of worship. The more productive our practices are, the more we accomplish together. A pledge is not just a single philanthropic gesture, it is the seed for thousands of future contributions. We are grateful to the many residents who care so deeply about their specialty.”
