The research grant initiative ensures the growth and development of the science of endodontics and improves the quality of patient care. There are two types of research grants:<\/p>\n
Research grants are awarded twice a year. Grants are reviewed and evaluated by the AAE Research and Scientific Affairs Committee. Grant recipients are notified after the Foundation’s Board of Trustee’s Annual Meeting for the spring cycle and after the Interim Meeting for the fall cycle. In each review cycle, the highest scoring student and non-student research proposals receive an additional $500 award.<\/p>\n

Online form submission is required; PDF email submissions are no longer accepted.\u00a0Once complete, the application will be considered by the Research and Scientific Affairs Committee Chair.<\/p>\n If your funded project timeline is longer than one year, a One-Year Follow-Up Report<\/a> must be submitted at the end of each year of the multi-year project. Online form submission is required; PDF email submissions are no longer accepted.<\/p>\n If the the Principal Investigator of an awarded\/active grant is no longer able to carry out the proposed activities but another PI in the same institution and with similar qualifications to the original PI is identified to continue the research proposed, a change of PI<\/a> can be requested. Only the original PI can initiate this request. Once this form is submitted and received, it will be reviewed by the chair of the AAE’s Research and Scientific Affairs Committee and the submitter will be notified by staff regarding the outcome of that review.\u00a0<\/p>\n If the Principal Investigator of an awarded\/active grant moves to a different institution, an institutional transfer<\/a> can be requested. Any balance remaining on the budget may be transferred to the PI’s new institution; no additional funds will be disbursed. Only the original PI can initiate this request.\u00a0Once this form is submitted and received, it will be reviewed by the chair of the AAE’s Research and Scientific Affairs Committee. The submitter will be notified by staff regarding the outcome of that review.\u00a0<\/p>\n A $500 award is available to every endodontic resident to fund activities related to research. The funding is payable on a one-time basis. The money can be used for the following activities:<\/p>\n Applications for Resident Research Awards are accepted on a rolling deadline throughout the year. The application must be submitted by the endodontic institution’s program director. All checks are issued to the institution. Upon completion of the research period, the program director should return the summary report<\/a> page of the guidelines and application.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tView the Resident Research Award Application\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t <\/p>\n An additional $500 award is now available for each resident who uses the initial $500 award towards a research project.
