\"\"COVID-19 infection rate among dentists less than 1 percent, new study finds\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

You may have had concerns that going in for your bi-annual dental checkup or tending to that cavity was a risk in the era of COVID-19. New research proves that\u2019s just not the case.<\/p>\n

Fewer than 1 percent of dentists nationwide were found to be COVID-19 positive, according to a first-of-its-kind report in the U.S. based on data collected in June 2020. The result is far below that of other health professionals in the U.S. In addition, 99 percent of dentists are using enhanced infection control procedures such as screening protocols and enhanced disinfection practices when treating patients. The report, published online ahead of print by\u00a0The Journal of the American Dental Association<\/em><\/a>, is the first large-scale collection and publication of U.S. dentists\u2019 infection rates and infection control practices related to COVID-19.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
