By Alan S. Law, D.D.S., Ph.D., AAE18 Program Chair
AAE18 in Denver is a meeting you won’t want to miss. General Session chair, Dr. Alan Gluskin, along with the Annual Session Planning Committee and the AAE meeting staff, has done an amazing job creating an educational and fun meeting in Denver.
In addition to Dr. Gluskin and myself, this year’s Annual Session Planning Committee consists of Dr. Francisco A. Banchs, alternative learning chair; Dr. John D. Regan, workshop chair; and Donna J. Mattscheck, immediate past general chair.
The Colorado Convention Center is an incredible venue that has enabled us to have some larger sessions in an auditorium on Wednesday that will focus on Hot Topics and Controversies. Also, Wednesday through Saturday, we will have presentations and workshops in multiple rooms that will surely meet everyone’s educational expectations. Our track organizers accomplished an exemplary task, selecting relevant and stimulating topics and talented speakers. The AAE18 educational tracks and organizers are listed:
- Controversies & Hot Topics: Dr. Louis H. Berman and Donna J. Mattscheck
- Surgical: Drs. Stephen P. Niemczyk and Peter Z. Tawil
- Endodontics Without Limits: Drs. William J. Nudera and Patricia A. Tordik
- Interdisciplinary: Drs. Nikita B. Ruparel and Terry D. Webb
- Essentials for Endodontic Practice: Drs. Todd A. Cole, Tevyah J. Dines and Mark P. Sullivan
In addition to the stellar lineup of presenters and topics at AAE18, the Mile High City has much to offer meeting attendees. Whether you enjoy watching one of the many professional sports teams, exploring the nearby Rocky Mountains, learning the legacy of the Old West, visiting the art and history museums, tasting one of the 200 beers brewed locally, or riding a mechanical bull, Denver has a lot to offer. I rode a mechanical bull when we were planning the meeting in Denver, and I am proud to say that I was able to see patients the next day.
You won’t want to miss this year’s Celebrate! Denver event at Wings Over the Rockies – Colorado’s Official Air and Space Museum. It will be set in the middle of an immense hangar among historical aircraft and exhibits honoring our many members who have served in the military, including AAE President Dr. Garry L. Myers. It is a unique and fascinating venue that will provide a mix of great food, fun, music and engaging historical exhibits!
I look forward to seeing all of you in the Mile High City for several days of solid education and camaraderie with friends, both current and future. Learn more and register today, and I'll see you in April!
