AAE Speaks with United States Chief Dental Officer

AAE President Dr. Alan H. Gluskin and Executive Director Ken Widelka participated in a public-private coalition COVID-19 update call with Rear Admiral (RADM) Timothy Ricks, Chief Dental Officer of the U.S. Public Health Service on Wednesday, January 13.

AAE’s participation on this call was the first of several planned monthly calls with RADM Ricks, and they are a part the AAE’s continued efforts to advocate for its members and the endodontic specialty. The call enabled AAE stakeholders to update RADM Ricks about the Association’s efforts to lobby for its members. The AAE also received critical updates about which states prioritize dentists to receive vaccines and which allow dentists to administer vaccines. To view a periodically updated list of these states, please visit: AADB’s page.

The AAE is committed to advocating for its members and the specialty. Since the pandemic started, the Association has sent letters to every governor and their state health officials urging them to include endodontists in their plans to combat COVID-19. Additionally, AAE members have sent their governors, state health officials and Congresspeople over 1,000 letters urging them to include endodontist in their efforts as well.
