American Board of Endodontics Announces New Directors

The American Board of Endodontics named new members to its Board of Directors during the American Association of Endodontists recent annual meeting in New Orleans. They are:

DrumMelissaWebMelissa M. Drum, D.D.S., M.S. Dr. Drum is the director of graduate endodontics at the Ohio State University College of Dentistry. She earned her D.D.S. from the University of Minnesota in 2004 and her Certificate in Endodontics from Ohio State in 2006. A Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, Dr. Drum is a recipient of the AAE's Edward M. Osetek Educator Award, presented to a full-time educator with less than 10 years of teaching experience who has earned the esteem and respect of students and faculty associates. Dr. Drum has served on several AAE committees, including the Scientific Advisory Board of the Journal of Endodontics and is past president of the Ohio Association of Endodontists.

TeixeiraFWebFabricio B. Teixeira D.D.S., M.S., Ph.D. Dr. Teixeira is the Richard E. Walton professor and head of the Department of Endodontics at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Before coming to Iowa in 2014, he served as director of the Advanced Education Program in Endodontics at the University of Texas Health at San Antonio. Dr. Teixeira earned his D.D.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Brazil before coming to the U.S. to obtain his Certificate in Endodontics from UT San Antonio in 2009. A Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, Dr. Teixeira holds is an endodontic consultant for the Commission on Dental Accreditation. He serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Journal of Endodontics and serves as peer reviewer on many other international journals. Dr. Teixeira also maintains a private practice limited to endodontics in Iowa City.
