Congratulations, Drs. Falcon and Kirkpatrick

Congratulations to Dr. Carla Y. Falcon for being named predoctoral director at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Falcon is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, and graduated with a B.S. from Northwestern University and a dual major in Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences and History. After working in industry, she decided to attend dental school, and earned a D.M.D. as well as an M.D.S. from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where she also received a Certificate in Endodontics. She currently works in two faculty practice locations associated with Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and also serves chair of the AAE Membership Services Committee. Dr. Falcon was also the 2016 winner of the EdgeEndo Endodontics Educator Fellowship Award.

“I am excited by this opportunity to help shape the educational experience of our predoctoral students,” she said. “It is exciting to have come full circle at my alma mater, and to continue the excellent work of my predecessor and mentor, Dr. Gerald Fishelberg, in advocating for a strong, robust predoctoral education in endodontics.”

Congratulations also to Dr. Timothy Kirkpatrick, UTHealth School of Dentistry’s new director for the Advanced Education Program in Endodontics. Dr. Kirkpatrick came to UT from The University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry, where he served as Professor and Chair for the Department of Endodontics. His previous positions include serving as chair and director of the Endodontics Residency Program at Kessler Medical Center, Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi, Chair and Program Director of the Endodontics Residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, and Chair of the Department of Endodontics at the United States Air Force Academy. Dr. Kirkpatrick is also secretary of the Board of Directors for the American Board of Endodontics, an active member of several professional organizations and has numerous publications.
