Dr. Gerald N. Glickman Elected Chair of ADA Council on Dental Education and Licensure

Gerald N. Glickman, D.D.S., M.S., M.B.A., J.D., chair of the Department of Endodontics at Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas, was recently elected chair of the American Dental Association’s Council on Dental Education and Licensure. The 16-member council, with representatives from practice, dental education and dental boards, is responsible for subject matter related to dental, advanced dental and allied dental education and accreditation, recognition of dental specialties and interest areas in general dentistry, dental anesthesiology, dental admission testing, licensure, certifying boards and credentialing for specialists and allied dental personnel, and continuing education. Dr. Glickman, who previously served as vice chair, will serve as chair through November 2018.

Dr. Glickman, a past-president of the AAE and ABE, is a Fellow of both the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. He serves on the editorial boards of the International Endodontic Journal; Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Radiology, and Endodontics; and he is an associate editor of the Journal of Endodontics.

Dr. Glickman received his M.S. degree in Microbiology from the University of Kentucky in 1975, a D.D.S. from the Ohio State University in 1978, a G.P.R. certificate from the University of Florida in 1979, a certificate and M.S. in Endodontics from Northwestern University in 1984, an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University in 1988, and a J.D. from Texas Wesleyan University in 1994.
