Welcome Residents and New Practitioners!

First of all, a big congratulations is due to those residents graduating in the coming months! Your hard work and persistence has paid off, and as a new practitioner, I welcome you into a wonderful career. Please remember, the purpose of this newsletter (and the Resident and New Practitioner Committee) is to serve your needs as a young endodontist. Do not hesitate to reach out to the staff, residents@aae.org, if you have specific inquiries or questions about what the RNP Committee can do for you!

APICES

APICES 2017 registration is around the corner. Residents, please watch for an email about the launch of registration.

If you recall from my letter in the August 2016 issue of The Paper Point, it is a major initiative of the Resident and New Practitioner Committee to accommodate more resident attendees at APICES going forward. As both the interest and demand have grown for the symposium, the committee has done its best to respond with the resources available. In order to create an environment for growth and new expansion, the committee will host APICES 2017 and future meetings in Chicago, home of the AAE. Larger venues and a central location will allow for the growth of corporate sponsorship opportunities and in turn allow for the attendance of more residents. We hope that APICES 2017 can accommodate all residents with interest in attending.

With that being said, please do not hesitate when it comes to registration. If you are planning to attend the meeting August 11 – 12 in Chicago, please register as soon as you receive the registration launch email.

AAE Connection

I hope each of you has taken the opportunity to check out the AAE Connection. This exclusive AAE members-only, online community is a robust and dynamic platform for members to discuss endodontic procedures, technologies and practice management topics, as well as network and share ideas with colleagues. We hope that you enjoy the simple and convenient technology while you develop your network and learn from thousands of endodontists around the world. Read more below to learn how The Paper Point will soon find home within the AAE Connection and how to stay in the loop.

Legends in Endodontics

Take notice of Dr. Robert Amato, Department Chair and Program Director at Tufts University Department of Endodontics, and his tips for the value of strong mentors, hard work and high standards in endodontics. Every young endodontist can gain valuable insight from those practitioners that have gone before you. If you have a great mentor who you would like us to showcase, please contact staff at residents@aae.org.

AAE17 Recap

For those of you who attended AAE17, thank you for your participation in the Resident and New Practitioner events and activities. Our goal is to create a few unique experiences for you and your colleagues while at the meeting. Check out the AAE17 website for a full recap, and the AAE17 Flickr album for photos of you and your friends!

Make sure to take advantage of the opportunities available next year at AAE18 in Denver. As a Colorado resident, I am looking forward to the meeting in 2018, and I hope to meet as many of you as possible at both APICES 2017 and AAE18!

Sincerely,
Laura L. Milroy, D.D.S., M.S.
