American Association of Endodontists Welcomes Dr. Keith V. Krell as New President

CHICAGO – The American Association of Endodontists elected Keith V. Krell, D.D.S, M.S., M.A., as its new president during its annual meeting in Montréal. The Association represents specialists who work to save teeth through the advanced treatment of root canals.

Dr. Krell is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics (ABE), as well as a past director  and past president and of the ABE. He is a former president of the Foundation for Endodontics, and is presently a Foundation Trustee.

He earned his D.D.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Iowa in 1981 and 1983. He also received his M.A. degree in sociology-anthropology in 1975, from the United States International University in San Diego, and he has been an endodontist for 38 years.

Dr. Krell was in private practice in West Des Moines, Iowa for 29 years until he retired December 31, 2017. He currently teaches at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry’s Department of Endodontics.He officially assumed his role during the Association’s General Assembly event and will serve one year.

“I am honored to have been selected by my colleagues to lead our specialty into the next year as president,” Krell said. “Endodontics has a rich history and bright future. I am confident that by working with our respective Board and members, we will accomplish great things and promote solutions to further strengthen our specialty and benefit our patients.”
