Randolph Todd, D.M.D.

Biography

Dr. Randolph Todd is a technology inspired Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics who began his professional academic dental career at Tuft’s University School of Dental Medicine. Upon completion of a general practice residency at North Shore University Hospital / LIJ in New York he pursued his training in endodontics at New York University College of Dentistry. Over the past 33 years Dr. Todd has maintained an exclusive private practice limited to conventional and microsurgical endodontics in NYC. He has educated countless graduate and postgraduate students at various institutions including Stony Brook University College of Dentistry, NYUCD and NSUH/LIJ. He was elected to the Board of Directors for the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Endodontics and is the current director of their academic board review course. He now serves as President of the College of Diplomates of the American Boards of Endodontics. Dr. Todd has been a National Lecturer for Carestream Dental (Kodak) on Cone Beam Computed Tomography and was selected to be a scientific reviewer for the esteemed AAE Journal of Endodontics. To cover his dental mission to Madagascar with the Ankizy Foundation, Dr. Todd was awarded a grant from the American Association of Endodontists Foundation. Dr Todd has two recent publications, one in “Endodontic Topics” and the other in the Dental Clinics of North America. The two articles are on the topic of CBCT in Endodontics.

    Topic: CBCT
    Learning Objectives:
    • At the conclusion, participants should be able to describe terminology specific to 3-D imaging.
    • At the conclusion, participants should be able to identify normal anatomic landmarks on 3-D imaging.
    • At the conclusion, participants should be able to apply 3-D imaging to endodontic diagnosis.

    Evidence based introduction of 3-D imaging for diagnosis and treatment of periodical disease. This presentation will display comparisons of 2-D vs. 3-D imaging to exemplify the need for advancement in radiology. Current literature will be identified that supports 3-D imaging as the state of the art approach to diagnosis.
