Take Action! Urge Lawmakers to Oppose the Expansion of Medicare Part B.<\/h2>\r\n

Recently,\u00a0Congress advanced a budget resolution\u00a0to\u00a0include dental care, vision, and hearing\u00a0in\u00a0Part B of the Medicare program.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

The proposal\u00a0lumps dental care in Medicare Part B and places such care in a physician-focused model that doesn’t take into consideration the differences between physician offices and dental offices. Including dental care in Part B also places undue burden on dentists by requiring them to comply with regulations designed for the medical care system. Significant administrative, technical and programmatic requirements\u00a0and\u00a0\u00a0inadequate reimbursement would likely deter dentists from joining a network based on this model.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

As the bill works its way through the legislative process, endodontists\u00a0need to\u00a0make their voices heard to ensure the proposal includes\u00a0specific\u00a0framework for\u00a0how the\u00a0new benefits\u00a0consider endodontists\u00a0and the low-income seniors they treat.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

The House and Senate Leadership intend to pass a bill by the end of September 2021.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n
