{"id":15376,"date":"2020-03-31T13:33:20","date_gmt":"2020-03-31T18:33:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aae.org\/specialty\/?p=15376"},"modified":"2020-04-07T16:58:12","modified_gmt":"2020-04-07T21:58:12","slug":"aae-prioritizes-support-of-education-during-time-of-disruption","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aae.org\/specialty\/aae-prioritizes-support-of-education-during-time-of-disruption\/","title":{"rendered":"AAE Prioritizes Support of Education During Time of Disruption"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To help ensure residents graduate during the COVID-19 pandemic, the AAE convened a virtual meeting with endodontic program directors from around the United States and Canada on March 23.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, AAE stakeholders, directors and other educators discussed helping residents meet clinical requirements, preparing for online instruction, and group distance learning across programs through the AAE.<\/p>\n<p>The program directors, through the AAE representative to the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), are also in continual conversations with CODA about meeting clinical requirements.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe AAE is committed to ensuring residents of endodontic programs graduate on time and with the necessary skills to treat patients,\u201d AAE President Dr. Keith V. Krell said. \u201cWe are in continual talks with program directors and working toward developing more online learning opportunities for students to utilize.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Further in support of the future of the specialty, the AAE has provided residents, predoctoral students and educators with complimentary access to Endo On Demand through June 30, 2020. It is the hope of the AAE that the online learning platform can supplement the efforts of programs and support students and faculty during this disruption in hands-on learning.<\/p>\n<p>The AAE is asking residents to stay tuned for upcoming distance learning opportunities.
