The American Association of Endodontists (AAE) is proud to announce that Ashraf F. Fouad, DDS, MS, has been recognized with a prestigious Journal of Endodontics (JOE) Award. This honor, presented by Dr. Ken M. Hargreaves, Editor-in-Chief of the JOE, during the AAE\u2019s annual meeting in Boston, acknowledges Dr. Fouad’s 15 years of dedicated service on the Editorial Board Committee.\u200b<\/p>\n
Dr. Fouad’s tenure on the JOE Editorial Board has been marked by commitment and significant contributions to the advancement of endodontic research and literature. His expertise and guidance have been instrumental in upholding the journal’s reputation for excellence.\u200b Though he departed the Editorial Board at the end of 2024, his impact will be long-lasting. For instance, the Basic Science: Biology category of the annual JOE Paper of the Year Awards has been renamed to the Ashraf Fouad Basic Science Paper-of-the-Year Award.<\/p>\n
\u201cDr. Fouad\u2019s 15 years of service to the Journal of Endodontics<\/em> have profoundly shaped the publication into a global leader in endodontic research,\u201d Dr. Hargreaves said. \u201cThrough his editorial vision, scientific rigor, and deep commitment to advancing the field, he elevated the Journal<\/em>\u2019s impact and nurtured a culture of excellence that will benefit clinicians, researchers, and patients for generations to come.\u201d<\/p>\n In addition to this accolade, Dr. Fouad has recently been appointed as chair of the American Dental Association\u2019s Council on Scientific Affairs (CSA). He began his yearlong term in October 2024, after serving as a member of the council since 2021. As chair, Dr. Fouad leads the CSA in providing critical scientific information to the dental profession and the public, guiding various ADA scientific programs and centers. \u200b<\/p>\n Dr. Fouad currently serves as professor and chair of the Department of Endodontics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry.
