Written Examination Information
Examination Date, Application Deadline, Pearson Vue Registration
The ABE Written Exam will be administered at Pearson Vue testing facilities on the following date:
May 12, 2026
Application Deadline
Please Note: Online applications will be available mid-November of the current year.
Applications must be submitted to the ABE no later than January 8, 2026. We cannot accept applications after this date.
Pearson Vue Registration
Upon approval of the ABE applications, applicants will receive an autogenerated email with instructions on scheduling their Written Examination directly with Pearson Vue. Instructions will include the date Pearson Vue will open their test center registration. Test center registration is done on a first-come-first-serve basis and centers rapidly fill to capacity. We recommend scheduling the exam with Pearson Vue the day their registration opens.

Case History Portfolio Examination Information
Submission Deadline
May 1
Candidates will have access to the case history website to upload their portfolio at any time during the year. However, the recurring submission deadline will be at 2 PM, Central Daylight Time (CDT) on May 1st. Any portfolio that has not been submitted in its entirety by the deadline will not be evaluated during that grading cycle. Limitations on the number of portfolios accepted per cycle may apply.

Registration for the October 2026 Oral Exam is not yet open. Please check back for when registration information will be sent via email to those who are eligible to take the exam.

Candidates who may be concerned about when they will be able to take the oral exam, please note that you can switch tracks and submit your Case History Portfolio as the second stage of the three-part ABE board certification process. There will be no penalty or additional fees to make this switch. If you would like to switch tracks, please email your track change request to our office at staff@amboardendo.org.
