An Interview with Dr. Ted Ravenel

If not for the door opened by his Foundation Endodontic Educator Fellowship, Dr. Ted Ravenel would not be opening as many doors today and tomorrow for dental students and endodontic residents at the Medical University of South Carolina.  Afforded the opportunity to transition full time to a second career as endodontic program director, the 20-year veteran clinician’s leadership brought a fresh positive culture to the endo residency program—which has been appreciated by other departments. He met the clinical practice needs of students with an innovative new outreach model that also expanded access to care for patients in need. And he forged connections with the local endodontic community by engaging volunteers as instructors and mentors for his students.
