Foundation in the Communiqué
With 2019 off to a running start, the Foundation for Endodontics is pleased to unveil is international access to care plans for the next 12 months.
As 2018 comes to a close, the Foundation can’t help but reflect on all its successes and good fortune. Thanks to generous donors, the Foundation has been able to provide resources and funding in various forms to support endodontic research, education and access to care.
Groundbreaking research fuels the specialty and gives both established and developing endodontists the tools to achieve excellence in patient care, saving natural teeth whenever possible. Supporting endodontic research with resources and funding is one of the Foundation for Endodontics’ highest priorities.
On October 4, 2018, the Foundation for Endodontics will receive the 2018 Shils Fund Special Recognition Award at the Union League in Philadelphia in honor of its outreach program and support of Project Home. One of only two such awards granted annually by the Shils Entrepreneurial Fund, this exceptional tribute acknowledges the Foundation's efforts to serve low-income patients who might otherwise face tooth extraction.
The Foundation for Endodontics firmly believes the strength of the specialty starts from strong educational opportunities. One way the Foundation works hard to keep the specialty relevant and on the cutting edge is by its commitment to ensuring specialists teach endodontics at dental institutions across the United States and Canada. The Endodontic Educator Fellowship Award is one of the Foundation’s flagship funding opportunities and directly addresses this issue.
The Foundation continues to invest in research and education as foundational pillars of the specialty. The organization’s funding initiatives committee reviewed the available funding opportunities that fall under the focus areas of research and education to evaluate the impact and relevance of each program.
