APICES 2026: A Recap

APICES 2026 brought endodontic residents from across the country to St. Louis for two days of learning, conversation and connection beyond the residency experience. The program tackled the questions residents are thinking about as they prepare for the next stage of their careers. Dr. Gordon Lai shared lessons in Things I Wish I Knew in Endo Residency, while Dr. Monica Estes explored compensation in today’s market. Dr. Rene Chu offered perspective on postgraduate life, Dr. Rob Roda took on the importance of referral relationships in 10 Ways to Lose a Referral, and Dr. Adham Abdel Azim closed the educational program with a clinical look at cervical root resorption. Residents also had the opportunity to learn more about the profession through Get to Know Your Specialty, featuring Drs. Joseph Dutner, Craig Hirschberg, W. Craig Noblett and Yehuda Joseph Benjamin. Between sessions, the exhibit hall, meals with corporate partners and social events at Ballpark Village gave residents time to connect with colleagues from programs across the country and with the broader endodontic community. Together, the weekend offered a mix of practical career insight, clinical education and the kind of peer connection that makes APICES a unique part of the resident experience.
