The AAE is committed to following all CDC guidelines for gatherings as we begin to meet in person. Since the guidelines are rapidly evolving, AAE staff will continue to monitor the latest protocols and work with the Hilton Chicago to ensure the most compliant and safe meeting environment possible. This webpage will be updated with information about APICES 2021 plans for health and safety protocols for attendees, exhibitors and staff. Please continue to check back for news and additional guidance as planning continues to be refined.

  • Vaccines will be required for attendance for all participants and guests.
  • A person is considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine.
  • All state, city and facility guidelines will be followed during the meetings.
  • All on-site health and safety measures for cleaning and capacity utilization will meet or exceed applicable guidelines.
  • Attendees will be required to sign a waiver within registration stating they will adhere to all onsite protocols and are eligible for attendance by meeting the vaccination requirement.

With the CDC’s latest announcement advising that fully vaccinated people are no longer required to wear masks indoors in groups of any size; we will be working with our contacts at the Hilton Chicago to get the most up to date protocols for the APICES meeting prior to travel. The CDC has now shared that fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.
