Educator Workshop
The Educator Workshop is an invitation-only meeting that rotates annually among three key leadership groups: Predoctoral Program Directors, Postgraduate Endodontic Program Directors, and Department Chairs.
2027 Workshop for Predoctoral Program Directors
The Predoc Playbook: From Pulp to Pixels to Possibilities
August 20–21, 2027
Marriott New Orleans | New Orleans, Louisiana
In 2027, the focus returns to Predoctoral Program Directors, whose work is essential to building students' foundational knowledge, developing clinical skills, and preparing future dentists to deliver quality endodontic care.
An Interactive Workshop Built Around Collaboration
Designed specifically for Predoctoral Program Directors, this two-day workshop provides an opportunity to step away from daily teaching and administrative responsibilities to engage with colleagues who share similar experiences, responsibilities, and challenges.
Active participation is a central part of the Educator Workshop experience. Rather than a traditional lecture-based meeting, the program encourages attendees to contribute to discussions, share experiences from their institutions, exchange successful teaching strategies, and work together to explore practical solutions to common challenges. These conversations enrich the educational content and strengthen connections among educators across the United States and Canada.
The 2027 program will explore two key educational tracks:
- Technology and Innovation in Education — Emerging technologies, digital teaching tools, artificial intelligence, and innovative approaches to instruction and student assessment.
- Scope of Practice and Clinical Competency — Clinical teaching approaches, consistency in education, case selection, and preparing students for examinations and independent practice.
Because Predoctoral Program Directors gather for this workshop only once every three years, the meeting provides a valuable opportunity to reflect on progress, address emerging challenges, and identify opportunities for continued improvement. Attendees will leave with practical ideas, fresh perspectives, and stronger professional relationships to support their work in advancing predoctoral endodontic education.
We look forward to welcoming Predoctoral Program Directors to New Orleans for two days of meaningful discussion, collaboration, and shared learning!

- Airfare: Round-trip airfare booked through AmTrav, the AAE's designated travel booking service, and charged directly to the AAE's payment method.

Anyone interested in alternative transportation, such as driving or train travel, must obtain approval from AAE staff before making arrangements or incurring expenses.
Continuing Education and Meeting Participation
The workshop will include opportunities for audience questions, open discussion, and collaboration throughout the educational sessions. Attendees are encouraged to come prepared to share their experiences and actively participate in conversations that help move predoctoral endodontic education forward.
Continuing education credits will be available for eligible sessions. Attendees will be responsible for entering the daily verification codes and completing the required evaluations through the event website to claim their CE credits. Instructions and deadlines will be provided during the meeting.
