AAE Advocates for Endodontics as Invited Speaker at National Dental Consultant Conference

AAE’s coding leaders and Code Maintenance Committee members – Drs. Beth Damas, Elizabeth Perry, and Kenneth Wiltbank, represented the interests of AAE members at this year’s American Association of Dental Consultants (AADC) Annual Meeting on May 15-17 in Bonita Springs, FL. This is the largest policy forum for the nation’s leading dental benefit plans’ dental directors and dental consultants. For years, the AAE has maintained a strong presence at this annual event to ensure endodontic treatments remain accessible, evidence-based, and fairly reimbursed.

This year, the AAE’s longstanding advocacy efforts were further recognized with a special honor: AAE Vice President, Dr. Elizabeth Perry was invited to serve as a guest speaker on behalf of AAE. In her compelling presentation, “Can You Save My Tooth? Innovative Endodontic Strategies for Saving Teeth,” Dr. Perry highlighted the critical need for fair reimbursement and comprehensive insurance coverage for endodontic care – delivering her message directly to the nation’s leading dental directors and consultants. The presentation sparked meaningful dialogue around how third-party payer policies can directly shape patient treatment options and outcomes for patients.

Throughout the meeting, Drs. Damas, Perry, and Wiltbank acted as key advocates for the specialty—engaging in strategic conversations with dental benefit directors and consultants, oral health partners, and specialty colleagues. Their advocacy focused on the importance of protecting patient access to endodontic care, supporting policies that prioritize clinical outcomes, and ensuring fair and sustainable reimbursement models.

Their participation reinforced AAE’s role as a respected and influential voice in dental policy and coding circles. It also strengthened relationships that will support continued collaboration on critical issues affecting the future of endodontic care.

Congratulations to Drs. Elizabeth Perry, Beth Damas, and Kenneth Wiltbank for their exceptional leadership and continued advocacy!
