Foundation for Endodontics Exceeded Fundraising Goal, Announces New 2016-2017 Officers, Trustees

The Foundation for Endodontics raised more than $1.6 million in its 2015-2016 fundraising campaign which culminated at the American Association of Endodontists' recent annual meeting in San Francisco. Thanks to the many generous donors who made pledges and the establishment of the Jacob B. Freedland Society, the campaign exceeded its original goal of $1.35 million. The Freedland Society was established to recognize individuals making deferred gifts of $1,000 or more.

The Foundation also named new officers and members of its Board of Trustees during AAE16. They are:

MorganPeterPeter A. Morgan, D.M.D., M.Sc.D., President. Dr. Morgan is managing partner of North Shore and Brookline Endodontics in Boston and the north shore suburbs. He earned his dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, after which he served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corp, serving at Womack Army Hospital, Fort Bragg, N.C., and at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He completed his endodontic specialty training at Boston University School of Dental Medicine, where he also earned a Master of Science in Dentistry. A Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, Dr. Morgan is a past president of the North Shore Dental Society and the Massachusetts Association of Endodontists. He also is a former associate clinical professor at the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

PettietteMaryMary T. Pettiette, D.D.S., President-Elect. Dr. Pettiette is an associate professor in the department of endodontics at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry and currently serves as the school's assistant dean for admissions and predoctoral education. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery and her Certificate of Endodontics from Louisiana State University. A Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, Dr. Pettiette previously served on the AAE Board of Directors and is a past president of the North Carolina State Endodontic Society. She currently serves as chair of the endodontic section of the American Dental Education Association.

Reelected Foundation for Endodontics officers are Secretary Margot T. Kusienski, D.M.D., M.S.Ed., M.M.Sc., and Treasurer Tom Kennedy, public sector representative.

Patrick TaylorPatrick E. Taylor, D.D.S., M.S., Trustee. Dr. Taylor has been in private endodontic practice in Bellevue, Wash., since 1998. Prior to that, he served in the U.S. Navy Dental Core, last serving as the Executive Officer of the Naval Dental Center, Pearl Harbor. He received his D.D.S. from the University of California at San Francisco and his Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Washington in Seattle. He is an affiliate associate professor at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. A Diplomate and past president of the American Board of Endodontics, Dr. Taylor is the 2016-2017 Vice President of the AAE Board of Directors.

UllmanCheryl Lang Ullman, D.M.D., Trustee. Dr. Ullman has been a practicing endodontist since 1980 and has been in Vermont since 1990. She received her dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed her specialty training at Boston University.

 

Mary Conditt

Mary Conditt, private sector Trustee. Ms. Conditt is the director of clinical affairs for Carestream Dental's U.S. digital business. She is responsible for all of Carestream Dental's key opinion leader relationships in addition to maximizing corporate sponsorships, partnerships and other industry relationships. She joined Carestream Dental in early 2014, bringing with her 20 years of experience in the dental profession.
