Paper Point Editorial – September 2023

Dear Endodontic Residents and New Practitioners,

As we say in Alabama: happy fall, y’all!

It was so great to be together in Phoenix for APICES 2023. For those of you who were in attendance, please do not forget to complete the APICES 2023 Post-Con Survey for a chance to win a $50 Visa gift card! The deadline to complete the survey has been extended until Monday, October 9th. This feedback will be used to help us plan for APICES 2024; please know that the RNPC values and appreciates every bit of your feedback!

To everyone preparing for the ABE Oral Examination in October: keep going! It is surreal that it has been a whole year since I was in your shoes. I will go out on a limb and say that (in my opinion) there is no way that one could ever be fully prepared for the oral examination.. remember that.. no one. Instead of thinking about all the things you might not know, use these last couple of weeks to focus on all those things that you DO know. As you journey to St. Louis, remember that everyone there is cheering for you. Big deep breath.. you’ve got this!

We have a great lineup of articles for you in this edition of The Paper Point including our very first Endodontics & Public Health spotlight by a current Yale M.P.H. student, who also happens to be an endodontist and RNPC committee member in his free time. Big shoutout to our jack-of-all-trades: Brandon Barnett!

Our committee is always searching for Residents and New Practitioners who would like to contribute to The Paper Point– we welcome anything from a cool clinical case to your favorite recipe… there really are no rules… okay, not too many! If you have questions, want to learn more, or are ready to submit an article, feel free to reach out to me any time at acgdmd@gmail.com.

Be the reason that someone has a great day today!
