Paper Point Editorial – September 2024
Dear Endodontic Residents and New Practitioners,
There are a couple of exciting things on the horizon if you are interested in getting more involved with the AAE.
- Leadership Development Program – every other year, the AAE hosts the Leadership Development Program (LDP). I was fortunate to be selected for the LDP in 2023, and I feel so grateful to have had this opportunity- I can’t say enough good things about this other than: apply. The LDP requires you to have already completed an endodontic residency program, so if you are a current resident keep an eye out for the next application cycle in Fall 2026 for the 2027 LDP. Applications for the LDP are due by October 14, 2024, and the LDP will be held February 6-8, 2025.
- Call for Committee Nominations – the AAE consists of eighteen different committees that are made up of hard working individuals like yourself. I joined the RNPC when I was a first-year endo resident, and I can truly say that it was one of the best professional decisions that I have ever made. Committee Nominations are due by November 1, 2024.
- Abstract Submission for AAE25 – if you are planning to present Oral Research, Poster Research, or a Table Clinic at AAE25 in Boston, abstracts are due by November 15, 2024.
To everyone preparing for the ABE Oral Examination in October: keep going! I will go out on a limb and say that (in my opinion) there is no way that one could ever be fully prepared for the oral examination.. remember that.. no one. Instead of thinking about all the things you might not know, use these last couple of weeks to focus on all those things that you DO know. As you journey to St. Louis, remember that everyone there is cheering for you. Big deep breath.. you’ve got this!
Our committee is always searching for Residents and New Practitioners who would like to contribute to The Paper Point– we welcome anything from a cool clinical case to your favorite recipe… there really are no rules… okay- well, not too many! If you have questions, want to learn more, or are ready to submit an article, feel free to reach out to me any time at acgdmd@gmail.com.
Happy fall, y’all!
