Restoring the Endodontically Treated Tooth: Endo Perspective – Ep. 22

Guest: Dale Jung, D.D.S. & Viraj R. Vora, D.D.S., M.S.

In this episode of Endo Voices, we bring together private practitioners Dr. Dale Jung (NYU Endo alum) and Dr. Viraj Vora (Michigan Endo alum) to gain insight into the dynamics of restorative endodontics, moreover, full-service endodontic care. We discuss why it is important for endodontists to have knowledge about restorative dentistry and review key principles that affect tooth and restoration survival after root canal. The conversation brings to light the hierarchy of dental structures and tissues with an emphasis of dentin preservation. Drs. Vora and Jung touch on their respective journeys to endodontics. These endo-resto enthusiasts zone in on the current shift towards MIE and the advances that have directed endodontics into a culture of thoughtful endodontic practices based within restorative design and sound isolation. Concepts like ferrule, peri-cervical dentin and deep margin elevation allow the listener to unpack pre-conceived thoughts on restoring the severely broken-down tooth and successfully managing sub-g caries.
