Available Sessions

  • Failing Root Canal Treatment – No Reason to Extract
    Learning Objectives:

At conclusion, participants should be able to:

    • Describe indications and case selection for endodontic microsurgery.
    • Discuss step by step description of the procedure keeping in mind the biological goals.
    • Discuss the evolution and application of Bioceramic materials in surgical and some non surgical clinical situations
    • Describe an evidence based review of the prognostic data that attests to the high success and predictability of the procedure.

Surgical endodontics has forged ahead in the last decade. In place of old tools and materials we now use especially designed instruments to be used under magnification and illumination. Cone beam CT scan and newer root-end filling materials such as Bioceramics and MTA have further improved the prognosis. The prognosis data attests that microsurgical technique has a highly successful and predictable outcome. We will review step by step implementation of the treatment of the treatment and discuss the importance of the procedure in the endodontic treatment spectrum, in order to save teeth.

This session can be a half or full day lecture, or 2 day workshop with hands-on, lecture and live patient demonstration.
