Tom Pagonis, D.D.S, M.S.
Biography
Dr. Pagonis earned his DDS and MS degrees from the University of Minnesota and completed his postgraduate training in endodontics at Columbia University in 1993. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Journal of Endodontics and journal reviewer for Photomedicine and Laser Surgery and Lasers and Surgery in Medicine.
He is a former faculty member of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and currently Associate Clinical Professor in endodontics at Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Pagonis has been a research advisor for postdoctoral students in advanced graduate programs in endodontics and his research interests focuses on the development of a photochemotherapeutic protocol for disinfection of the dental root canal system.
Dr. Pagonis is also the ‘Chief ‘Endodontics’ Officer of RootRadar, a creative digital agency for dentistry located in the greater Boston area.

Root Resorptions: Etiology, Diagnosis and Treatment
Topic:Learning Objectives:
• Describe the etiology and classification of various resorptive defects.
• Describe clinical treatment options.
• Describe and explain clinical diagnostic testing strategies in making a differential diagnosis.This session will serve as an overview of root resorptions and will include a historical perspective, a review of factors associated with root resorptions, a review of classifications and nomenclature followed by a discussion of the etiology, mechanism of action, diagnosis and treatment options.
One half-day lecture.
