APICES

The Annual Program in Clinical Endodontics Symposium (APICES) is the AAE’s signature conference created specifically for endodontic residents by the Resident and New Practitioner Committee — and for many residents, it becomes their true introduction to the endodontic specialty community. 

Residency can often feel fast-paced and all-consuming, with most days focused on clinic responsibilities, coursework, research, and meeting program requirements. APICES is an opportunity to step away from that routine and spend a weekend connecting with residents from programs across the United States and Canada who are experiencing many of the same challenges, milestones, and excitement that come with this stage of training. 

Throughout the weekend, residents hear from respected leaders in endodontics, gain insight into the transition from residency into professional practice, and connect with the organizations, mentors, and industry partners that help support the specialty. But what truly makes APICES special is the sense of community built throughout the experience. 

This meeting is intentionally designed to feel welcoming, collaborative, and engaging. Residents are encouraged to meet people outside of their own programs, build relationships across institutions, and become part of the broader endodontic community early in their careers. Many attendees leave not only with new knowledge, but with friendships, professional connections, and relationships that continue long after residency ends. 

While the educational programming is a major part of the weekend, APICES is also meant to be fun! It is a weekend to network, reconnect, celebrate this stage of your career, and experience the specialty in a way that feels personal and supportive. 

More than anything, APICES is intended to be your welcome into the profession. The AAE hopes this weekend is not simply a conference you attend during residency, but the beginning of a long professional relationship with the specialty community and the organization that will support you throughout your career.
