AAE Unveils New Board Slate for 2023-2024

We are pleased to announce our Officers of the Board of Directors for the 2023-2024 year. The various BOD members were installed on May 5, 2023.

Craig S. Hirschberg, D.D.S., will serve as President. Dr. Hirschberg has been Chair of the Department of Endodontics at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine since 2013, where he also served as the Director of the Advanced Education Program in Endodontics until 2018. Dr. Hirschberg has been a Trustee of the Foundation for Endodontics since 2017. He has chaired and/or served on numerous standing and special committees for both AAE and the Foundation for Endodontics. Dr. Hirschberg is a past Director of AAE District II and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.

Natasha M. Flake, D.D.S., Ph.D., M.S.D., will serve as President Elect. Dr. Flake is a part-time practitioner, Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and full-time educator. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery at the University of Maryland in 2005, with a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Maryland Graduate School. She earned a Master of Science in Dentistry and Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Washington Graduate Endodontics Program in June 2007. She also serves as the director of the undergraduate Endodontic program at the University of Washington.

 

Steven J. Katz, D.D.S., M.S., will serve as Vice President. Dr. Katz graduated from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy in 1980. He received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1986 and his Certificate of Endodontics and Master of Science degree from the college in 1988. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Katz is also a member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Greater Cleveland Dental Society, and a specialist member of the Ohio Association of Endodontists. He has chaired and/or served on several standing and special committees and was a previous District IV Director for the AAE. Dr. Katz is in full-time private practice in Beachwood, Ohio and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at West Virginia University, School of Dentistry.

W. Craig Noblett, D.D.S., M.S., will serve again as Treasurer. Dr. Craig Noblett received his dental degree from UCLA School of Dentistry and his Master’s and Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Iowa. He has also served as assistant director of the GPR program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital/Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. He has chaired several committees for the American Association of Endodontists and is a past president of the Northern California Academy of Endodontics. Noblett has also served six years as a Director of the American Board of Endodontics including two years as president of the ABE. He is also currently Director, Division of Endodontics, University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.

Elizabeth Shin Perry, D.M.D., will serve as Secretary. Dr. Perry received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Pennsylvania and graduated Cum Laude with a Doctor of Dental Medicine from Harvard University. She completed her postdoctoral Certificate in Endodontics at the University of Connecticut. She has chaired and/or served on several standing and special committees and is a past District I Director of AAE. Dr. Perry is in full-time private practice in Westfield, Massachusetts and is a Clinical Instructor and Lecturer in the Advanced Graduate Program in Endodontics at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Perry is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.

Stefan I. Zweig, D.D.S., will serve as Immediate Past President. Dr. Stefan Zweig graduated from UCLA in 1982 with a B.S. in Biochemistry. He received his dental degree from the University of Southern California in 1986 and his Certificate in Endodontics from USC in 1992. He maintained a faculty position at USC from 1992 until 1998 in the Department of Endodontics during which time he served as the Assistant Director of Graduate Endodontics. Dr. Zweig is a Past President of the Southern California Academy of Endodontists and The California Association of Endodontists. He has served on the Interdisciplinary Committee of the California Dental Association, on numerous AAE Committees, and on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Endodontists. He is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr. Zweig has lectured locally, nationally, and internationally in the field of endodontics. Currently, Dr. Zweig serves as an Associate Professor of Clinical Dentistry, Department of Endodontics and Periodontics, at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of the University of Southern California.
