3-D Surgery Live, New Speakers Among Highlights of AAE17

3D_surgeryCMQ As endodontists and professional staff, we have come to know and value the AAE’s annual meeting. Its top-quality educational sessions allow us to connect with friends and colleagues in attractive locations which draw many of us year after year. While preserving all that is great about this event, the Annual Session Planning Committee has made some exceptional changes for AAE17 that are meant to enhance your overall experience, deliver more value for your time and money, and stir you into a new way of thinking about what it means to be an endodontist in today’s changing dental profession.

AAE17, April 26-29 in New Orleans, will be distinctive in its approach to subjects and content as it explores the most debated and provocative topics in contemporary endodontics. There will be a number of presentations that will be controversial and addressed with exceptional quality by lecturers who are cutting-edge, or even slightly out of the mainstream.

Drs. Rick S. Schwartz and Fred Barnett have developed a nonsurgical track that will center on new ideas and trends in endodontics. A group of 20 speakers from around the world has been assembled who are among the best in the world on their topics. Attendees should expect new concepts and fresh paradigms from the speakers in this track. Many of the speakers are first-time presenters at the AAE annual meeting.

Dr. Frank C. Setzer has crafted a surgical track that will feature lecturers at the cutting edge of the surgical discipline and offer real solutions to vexing problems.
As the track organizers for the “Pulp Fiction” track, Drs. Melissa M. Drum and Scott L. Doyle have blended subjects that are both controversial and sometimes misunderstood.
To enhance the scientific backbone of our meeting, Drs. Ashraf F. Fouad and Mo I. Fayad have created the “Saving the Natural Tooth” track which will address themes on pulp and dentin regeneration, the science behind persistent lesions, and the latest understandings about the interface of tooth structure and biomaterials.
There are also inspiring and noteworthy speakers in practice management developed by the Practice Management track organizers, Drs. Kirk A. Coury and Cameron M. Howard and Mr. Blair Cappuccio.
Under the auspices of Dr. Alan S. Law, the Submitted Presentations track is comprised of sessions selected from the member’s response to the Annual Session Planning Committee’s Call for Presentations. The topics have been linked by themes in order to provide to the membership those speakers and issues with the broadest range of interest and content.
Attendees also may choose from a number of excellent hands-on workshops that will be offered as well as our popular alternative learning opportunities, “The Experts Are In” and “CE Express.”

And finally, the pièce de résistance, the AAE will bring live surgery to AAE17, in a most remarkable way. On the first day of the meeting we will conduct two live surgical demonstrations in 3-D. These surgical presentations will feature state-of-the-art microsurgery utilizing the latest in CBCT-guided techniques transmitted via a unique 3-D microscope to the audience.
