Rise to the Occasion at AAE22 in Phoenix

“The desert tells a different story every time one ventures on it.” – Robert Edison Fulton, Jr.

I couldn’t be more thrilled to have this year’s Annual Meeting set in Phoenix, Arizona. As someone who has lived in the Midwest much of my life, I’ve always held a special appreciation for the desert aesthetic. And after the winter we’ve had, you can bet I’m looking forward to some sunshine.

While I’m looking forward to venturing outside when possible, I can’t tell you how eager I am to get back under one roof with all of you! These past 24 months have almost felt like a long winter! A return-to-normal meeting is so welcome and meaningful. But AAE22 will be so much more than just a mere return to status quo!

Health and safety continue to be top priorities as we head to this meeting. Please review our Health and Safety Code of Conduct and be assured that your safety is top of mind as we meet in person again.

We have an incredible lineup of presentations in store – just take a look at these Educational Tracks!: Clinical/Ethical Dilemmas (“Prickly Situations”), Interdisciplinary, Non-Surgical Root Canal Therapy, Pain, Practice Management/Teamwork, and Surgical Root Canal Therapy.

When you’re not immersed in our educational offerings, you will have many opportunities to enjoy your time with your time with old friends and new friends. From our mainstay favorite events like the Welcome Reception, President’s Breakfast, Edgar D. Coolidge Brunch, and Celebrate Phoenix to much more – including a surprise or two! My philosophy is that our first in-person Annual Session in three years must be outstanding – picture a memorable family or college reunion!

Speaking of memorable, you won’t want to miss this year’s Keynote speaker, Colin O’Brady, Colin is regarded as one of the best endurance athletes and a foremost expert on mindset. His story provides a raw, inspirational and thought-provoking journey deep into the mind to unlock human potential. The New York Times called O’Brady’s most recent success — the world’s first solo, unsupported and unaided crossing of Antarctica — “one of the most remarkable achievements in polar history.” His Keynote address will take place on Wednesday, April 27, in Phoenix at AAE22 and can be viewed as part of the livestream attendance package. Visit to register for this can’t-miss event!

AAE22 will also include one of our most important General Assembly meetings yet. I strongly encourage every voting member to be present on site from 8:30-9:45 a.m. on the morning of Friday, April 29, to vote on our proposed Constitutions and Bylaws – recently posted at Note: there is no virtual option for this year’s General Assembly meeting; you must be on site to participate.

For all this and so much more, I invite you to register for AAE22, grab your sunglasses and partake in something truly remarkable. I can’t wait to see you!
