Spotlight on President’s Award Winner Dr. George Bogen

The President’s Award is the AAE’s annual celebration of an individual who has made a notable impact on our specialty of endodontics.

This year’s winner was announced at the President’s Breakfast. The award is meant to honor exceptional individuals who work behind the scenes to promote and advance endodontics. It’s important to give these worthy individuals proper recognition – as they do not seek the spotlight.

This year’s winner, Dr. George Bogen, has been an active member of our organization for many years, most recently as a member of the Special Committee on Vital Pulp Therapy. He has participated in a great deal of clinical research on VPT and is considered by some the father of modern clinical vital pulp therapy.

He maintained a private endodontic practice in Los Angeles from 1998 to 2018. He has lectured for the postgraduate departments at UCLA, Loma Linda, NSU and the VA in Long Beach and is a former Clinical Assistant Professor of Endodontics at USC.

He is the past President of the Southern California Academy of Endodontists, past secretary and trustee of American Association of Endodontists Foundation. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for the Journal of Endodontics and Decisions in Dentistry, and a past member of the AAE Corporate Relations Committee. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.

He has published numerous research articles, textbook chapters and has lectured nationally and internationally. He most recently has been a Senior Lecturer for the Department of Endodontics at the University of Queensland School of Dentistry in Brisbane, Australia.

Congratulations to the esteemed Dr. George Bogen!
